Jamie Carroll – International Creative Director, ICD
Jamie is the current Modern Salon Learning Director and VAHA International Creative Director. His experience has taken him around the world including coming from AUSTRALIA, Styling hair for Olivia Newton John, Miss Universe, the Golden Globes and Paris Fall with BALMAIN to name but a few. He has inspired his team and business to become one of Australia’s top 10 salons. Jamie was the youngest named in top 50 influential hairdressers of all time by Modern Salon among other awards. And is the Australian Fashion Director Intercoiffure, has served on the national board and is the current Chairman of a section.
Alison Church – Academy Director, AD
Alison began her career graduating from Tennessee School of Beauty in 2005. She continued her education by taking courses at many advanced academies such as Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Graham Webb and Paul Mitchell. During her career, Alison developed a passion for education which led her path back to Tennessee School of Beauty. She graduated from Instructors Program in 2011 while also being voted CityView’s magazine Best of the Best Stylist in Knoxville. She went onto to work for Paul Mitchell the School of Knoxville, earning many titles until transitioning to be a part of the Salon Visage color team and Director for VAHA.
Sam Hummel – Haircutting Director, HD
Sam started her career at the Douglas J. Aveda Institute in 2006 where she received training in both Aveda and Vidal Sassoon techniques. With education being a key factor in choosing a job, Sam started training at Impres Salon and Spa. Impres models their extensive hands on training from owner Sandra Dunn’s extensive time working with Trevor Sorbie, platform artist. Sam’s opportunities for education included, advanced training with Sandra Dunn, Ruth Roche, and Peter Bokinoski. Education must be a passion and having that passion lead Sam back to school to receive her instructor license with the Aveda institute. Joining the Aveda team lead to great opportunities for growth and training including advanced cutting training with Vivienne Mackinder, TJ Weaver and Jason Nash. In 2011, Sam moved to Knoxville, Tennessee. As the Aveda Institute’s Lead Educator, Sam ran all programs from the introduction unit to the educator training programs. Always having a desire to grow lead to joining the Visage team and through the amazing creative team and Frank Gambuzza the training and education are never ending. When not teaching or working behind the chair, Sam enjoys loving on her dog, Athena and getting together with friends.
